After being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Liga Endesa by Valencia Basket, the Basque team has activated the planning mode for the next season. With Jaume Ponsarnau's continuity as head coach of Miribilla secured, the club is starting to shape its new project, in which everything points to closing the point guard position with a signing from the First FEB. The most advanced movement would be the signing of the third point guard, Dan Duscak. Following the line that the club has been reinforcing in recent times — betting on talent from the First FEB, as happened with Domínguez, Ansorregi or the same Frey and Pantzar— the chosen one in this case is the Slovenian point guard, from Ljubljana and from Oviedo. Dan Duscak, 23 years old, would make the leap to the Liga Endesa as a young player after three seasons in Oviedo. In his last course, he has signed averages of 7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 21 minutes of play. An absolute international with Slovenia, the point guard stands out for his vision of the game, his contribution on both sides of the court and a notable improvement in his outside shooting. Formed in the Real Madrid youth academy —he even played in the preseason with the first team—, he began his professional career in KK Cedevita Olimpija and later passed through Gran Canaria before consolidating himself in Oviedo of First FEB. With the official season already over, Jaume Ponsarnau —who will now direct the friendly of the Catalonia selection against Great Britain— made a balance of the course and left some clues about the immediate future. For the 2026-27 season, the idea of Surne Bilbao Basket would be to assemble a team of thirteen players, within which Dan Duscak would start as the third point guard in the initial rotation.
